Thalle Industries and the Pacchiana Family Awarded Family Business Success Hall of Fame Award
On April 18th, at a dinner attended by over 500 guests at the Glen Island Harbour Club, New Rochelle, NY, Thalle Industries and the Pacchiana family were awarded the Business Council of Westchester / Business Hall of Fame - Family Business Success Award. The award recognizes the lifetime achievements of Westchester County’s finest businesses. Since its inception 12 years ago, the Business Hall of Fame has inducted over 50 business leaders.
The members of the Pacchiana family have been Westchester County residents for nearly 100 years. They are well-known for building a highly successful, environmentally progressive construction and materials supply business. It is important to the family, that they are also known for their high level of community participation, generosity in giving their time and financial support to many local business, professional and community service organizations and their significant actions toward protecting our environment.
At Thalle Industries customer service is our number one priority. Tell us what you need and we’ll make it for you, any time of day, any time of year. It is our policy to provide opportunities for our employees to advance in their jobs, responsibilities and income.
Highly qualified people who care about the company, our customers and the environment are at the core of our success… that translates into a great company ethic, high quality products, attentive, knowledgeable service and good value for our customers.
President / CEO Thalle Industries Inc.
Glenn Pacchiana has worked for Thalle Industries, the family business, since 1990. He grew up in the construction industry, entering the field in the footsteps of his father and grandfather. From the age of 10 until his graduation from Cornell University, Glenn spent much of his free time learning the company’s various business operations from the ground up. The day after college graduation, Glenn became a full time engineer at the company.
Through Glenn’s long commitment to a partnership between environmental and business forces, Thalle Industries has long been at the forefront of environmental friendly policies and practices in its industry. Its Quarry in Fishkill, New York was one of the State’s first green quarries, reclaiming the land and planting trees on “benches” concurrently with the mining process rather than waiting until the quarry is fully mined to begin the reclamation process. Thalle's asphalt plant was the first high performance, zero emissions plant of its kind in the Hudson Valley. The company's Elmsford recycle and supply facility focuses on recycling asphalt, rock and concrete from construction projects.
In 2011, Glenn and Thalle Industries were honored by the NY League of Conservation Voters for their work in support of the Environment, the first time in its 22 year history that organization has bestowed that level of honor on an individual in the mining and construction industry. He is also a supporter of Scenic Hudson, Riverkeeper, The Fresh Air Fund and NY Environmental Advocates.
Glenn is a life-long resident of Westchester County. He is on the Board of the Business Council of Westchester, Associated General Contractors - New York State, Friends of Westchester County Parks and the Briarcliff Public Library.
He also coaches baseball and football and teaches religion at St. Theresa’s Church in Briarcliff, NY.
Glenn graduated from Cornell University in 1990 with a degree in Civil Engineering.
